This picture is of two mini zebu paint calves that
are four and five months old. They are extremely colorful and small.
They will be a joy to watch mature. Talk about one of a kind!
This nicely marked heifer is very tiny, my smallest
of the year. Born to the black cow pictured and sired by Diablo, a
black/white paint, she will hopefully turn black when she sheds.
And she did turn black!!!!!!!!! She's the one
on the left.
The heifer on the right is even smaller. She is a year old in the
picture. Both of these girls are very nicely marked and very tame.
It's more fun when you need to handle these animals if they are tame
and broke to lead.
Zebu calves are more the size of fawns at birth.
This fantastic heifer is probably going to turn black & white. Her
markings are near perfect. She is probably a "keeper". Born on
Easter Sunday, my grandkids decided her name should be Bunny.
Pictured here are two 16" calves at birth. The bull
on the left is Boogieman who was 29-1/2" tall at two years and Lil
Bit O' Honey (Lily) on the right who was 27-1/2" tall at two years
old.
Tiny Tim in this picture is one year old and only
25" tall! He is probably going to be even smaller than his sire
Boogieman, pictured above. He is the smallest I have raised.
This little girl is a keeper. Princess was born a
very light gray & white. In this picture she is two months old and
changing to black & white very quickly. She is extremely small, and
was sired by Diablo.
Prince was sired by Diablo and
his mother is a 33" half sister to Boogieman, so he will remain very
small. He is also turning black & white so will be very colorful.
Prince has a very laid back personality. He will make a great herd
sire.
